Ann has had a lifelong interest in art. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she attended UCLA and earned her BA in Fine Art at San Francisco State University. She moved from San Francisco to Santa Barbara in 2005. For the past few years, Ann has concentrated on developing her painting style which has been described as high-impact and elegant, dramatic yet simple.

Through painting Ann attempts to convey the perfect imperfection of the natural world. She's especially interested in capturing nature's fragility and transience, a fleeting moment in the ongoing transformation of life. In her work, she hopes to pay homage to the objects of her observation and to evoke the energy that animates matter.

Her ability to portray this natural beauty is apparent in her visually-compelling paintings. Using both oils and acrylics, she creates images that reward the casual viewer's glance as well as the more discerning viewer's sustained attention.
